STORIES
Tony Alva drops in on our photoshoot with Italian photographer Giulio Ghirardi.
In the vibrant city of Los Angeles at 8:30 am, under the warmth of a 72-degree sunny day, we conduct an A/W23 product photoshoot with the talented photographer Giulio Ghirardi. Fortuitously in the States for a brief period, Ghirardi graces us with his presence in L.A. The skate park, bathed in moody morning light, becomes our canvas. As the crew prepares for the shoot, an effortlessly stylish skater, revealed to be the legendary TONY ALVA, emerges. Invited to infuse a "SoCal" vibe, Alva not only skates but transforms into an art director, directing models into dramatic shadows and orchestrating dynamic poses. In a captivating 10 minutes, he blurs the lines between skating and art, leaving an indelible mark on the shoot. Gracious to the end, Alva shares stories, takes a group photo, and subtly reminds us of our luck with a dread he had hung on the fence, marking his legendary presence in that memorable morning.
